We are a family business
Eshkol Premium is a family business. The Romero Castro Family, originally from Rionegro, Antioquia, take part in the company's leadership and operations. Eshkol grows thanks to the management and projection of its General Manager, Felipe, and his mother, Teresa Castro, who finds support and drive to achieve the goals that position the company today at a local, regional, national, and international level. Throughout the company's history, various family members, including sons, daughters, cousins, and nephews (the next generation), have joined to work and grow together.

Colombian multi-origin production

Our crops are located in unique and original environments. Colombia provides us multipletopographies where we can cultivate the best products. We have snow-cappedmountains, alluvial plains, high plains, valleys, and inter-Andean mountains. This diversity also generates climate variability ranging from cold totemperate and warm. The nature and beauty of the Colombian country, in additionto its people's traditions and agricultural customs, allows our Colombian freshherbs to fascinate customers and consumers.

THIS IS OUR HISTORY

Our company was founded in April 2012, and its main headquarters are in Colombia. Currently, we position ourselves as the country's largest grower of fresh herbs. Our products are exported to the United States and Canada, for which operation we have logistics and commercial centers in Florida.

The very beginning
The origin of Eshkol Premium dates to the company's current general manager, Luis Felipe Romero Castro, who is interested in agriculture. Long before the foundation of Eshkol, Felipe showed a growing interest in the agricultural world. He initially ventured into tomato production, which he marketed locally and nationally, before delving into cultivating fresh herbs.
Over time
Over time, Felipe became more involved in the business of fresh herbs. He decided to educate himself on the subject with the help of agronomists, professors, and specialists in producing these plants. This immersion in the sector led him to abandon tomato production to focus exclusively on the cultivation of fresh herbs, starting in a small greenhouse with varieties such as mint, tarragon, oregano, and thyme.
Customers
Initially, his target customers were traders who exported these herbs, although Felipe focused on production.
Some time later
After a while, he stopped growing perishable foods and became the former Association of Aromatic Exporters (ASOAROMAS) manager. In that position, Felipe delved into the international trade of herbs, learning about customers, demand, dynamics, and difficulties in exporting these products abroad.
2012
After two years at ASOAROMAS, Felipe founded his own production, marketing, and exporting company of aromatic herbs: Eshkol Premium. His first client was Green Sun One (GSO) in Miami, Florida. He started in a warehouse with a small team: 10 people packing, a secretary, and himself assuming the role of manager.

After three months, he partnered with a friend who provided one-hectare cultivation for herb production while Felipe took care of international marketing. Over time, Eshkol acquired more hectares to increase production and expanded its range of products, including rosemary, in its export portfolio.
2015
In 2015, Felipe identified a high demand for basil in the international market and decided to cultivate it, acquiring farms in the Tolima department due to favorable climatic conditions: the best basil grew in a warm environment. The expansion continued with the opening of new branches in various regions of Colombia to take advantage of the country's topographic diversity.
2018
In 2018, the partnership with his friend dissolved, leaving Felipe as the sole majority partner.
2020
After two years, the company underwent numerous changes. The first was overcoming the COVID-19 pandemic. Subsequently, a new farm dedicated exclusively to the organic production of aromatic herbs was established. This was to meet market trends and demands of the international society. Finally, in August of the same year, a new market was opened: Eshkol Premium began exporting to Canada.
2022
Eshkol considered moving mint production to the Cundinamarca department due to favorable climatic conditions in the region: the cold environment boosted mint quality. During this same period, the company acquired new farms and expanded existing ones, consolidating itself as Colombia's second-largest exporter and the largest producer of fresh herbs.
Today
The company went from being solely an international trader with 0 hectares cultivated to having 40. It went from having 12 employees to over 450.

This growth is attributed to teamwork and hard work. It is also thanks to compliance with legal standards and continuous training and decision-making focused on customer satisfaction, high product quality, responsible consumption, and sustainable development.
